Over 30 years ago I cruised the Gulf Intercoastal Waterway
from Houston to the Fl keys (eventually to Maine and the New York Barge Canal)
in my 23-ft twin-keeled English Westerly. After purchasing my 1969 West Weight
Potter 14 “Hobbes” (named after the imaginary tiger in the comic strip Calvin
and Hobbes) last year, my “bucket list” got updated to return to sailing
Southern waters. Dan Phy with his new-to-him 12-foot Pelican “Coot” and Steve
Haines with his 12-foot SCAMP “B. Frank” kindly asked if I wanted to join them
for a month of sailing. The plan was to meet in Pensacola, Fl (appropriately
enough?) on April Fools Day.
Note: I am late in starting this, my first, BLOG. I will
play catch up as best as I can.
Amazing,
ReplyDeleteLove these boats.
Working to restore my P15 and balance her trim.
Would be fun and share a cup and WHILE SWAPPING stories.
